Hiring Gablestone Optimization (GableOps) was one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences I have had since leaving the military. I went into this looking for genuine, expert guidance from someone who advertised veteran-to-veteran camaraderie and promised to fight for my claim. Instead, I ended up paying a $1,000 deposit on a $3,500 package for what felt like total abandonment and a generic assembly line.
The personal impact of this experience hit me in several ways:
Massive Stress During Critical Windows: After taking my money, communication fell off a cliff. I was left waiting a full 30 days without a single response to basic questions about my strategy and invoice terms. When you are facing strict VA deadlines, being completely ignored for a month creates immense anxiety and leaves you feeling stranded.
Feeling Disrespected by the "Work Product": Instead of a personalized claim built on my actual medical history, I was handed a standardized 24-claim template filled with instructions to use ChatGPT to generate my own personal statements and lay letters. Over 20 of those claims had zero basis in my actual service records. Finding out that the primary deliverable was an AI prompt I was expected to run myself felt like a slap in the face after paying $1,000.
Financial Loss and Wasted Time: I tried to resolve my concerns, but my questions went ignored. When I filed a BBB complaint to get my deposit back, they refused to issue a refund. I was left out $1,000 for a template I had to throw away, forcing me to start the entire process over from scratch on my own.
It hurts to feel taken advantage of when you are simply trying to navigate the VA system for the benefits you earned. I am sharing this so other veterans do not have to go through the financial loss, radio silence, and immense stress that I experienced.
